Dear Mr. Weaver:
The Nuclear Regulatory Comission has instituted a Special Inquiry to review and report on the accident which took place at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2, beginning on March 28, 1979. A prirsary objective of the inquiry is to the actual events that occurred and make factual determinations concerning:
their causes; the actions of utility and Corraission personnel before and during the accident; the emergency actions tiken by the various Federal, State and local agencies that responded to the accident; the offsite impacts of the acci-dent; and the effectiveness of corrnunications.
As a part of this special inquiry, members of the NRC investigative team will be contacting your agency shortly in an effort to learn the details associated with the actions taken by your organization in response to the Three Mile Island In We would very much appreciate your cooperation in this endeavor.
