Inter-Office Memorandum 4

.iav 18, 1979 k viService S..cgi EXTRA PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES FOR AREA TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS FOR TMI T

Locmicn Three Mile Island RICHARD VOLDIER, NRC Met-Ed company has had in place, since shortly after the accident at Three Mile Island Unit-2, around-the-clock manning i.t trans--

mission substations servicing Three Mile Island.

With the completion today of the two emergency diesel generators as backup power supplies for various steam plant equipment and the completion of an additional 13.8 KV feed to the circulating water pu=p house, these precautionary measures are no longer neces-sary.

We believe it is also appropriate to return our combustion turbine generators to normal economic dispatch.

I request your concurrence with proceeding with the relaxation (as described in the attached memorandum) of the extra precautionary measures pre-viously taken to assure reliable supply of power to th-Three Mile Island stations.
