We (i.e., Novak) needs to establish a separate task and identify workers to solve the RCP running " problem". Resource material includes the in-coming from B&W (May 10) and W (May 17). B&W assumes CCW is maintained or reinstated, seal injection'~and return is mcintained or reinstated, certain seal leakage criteria for W pumps, certain emergency vibrathn criteria are used; cavitation is not so important at elevated temp; pump " bumps" should not be more often than hourly. The W response is not so specific. They believe the pump run criteria should not be implemented without consideration and specification of appropriate procedures and precautions. Apparently this concern centered on CCW and seal water, and vibration.
(W says they are developing some guidance).
This iten needs to be resolved this week.

Thadani is to assure that ACRS report #2 (5/16/79) is covered by his two generic reports.

Thadani needs to put into report info from Stolzenburg of May 18, 1979.

Shall we send further TMI-2 scenarios to operating reactors via bulletins?

We have petition from Friends of the Earth on Rancho Seco. See Reid, Heltemes, Novak, Israel, Mazetis if you wish to read.

M. Williams, D. Ross, T. Novak need to discuss whether low pressurizer level is a manual trip omen.
