STATUS REPORT AS OF MAY 7,1979 1.
Order to Oconee and Rancho Seco - draft order being reviewed by OGC -
will be issued probably today by Comission rather than staff - (0GC contact is Leo Slagy).

Orders to TMI-Uait 1, Davis Besse, Crystal River and ANO-l will be finalized quickly with only plant specific changes from the Oconee/ Rancho Seco order as issued. 00R will draft - ELD review. All necessary licensee cocTaitments for these plants will have been obtained.
3.
Input infomation from B&W to B&W Generic Analysis Team (Rosztoczy) should all be available by c.o.b. today - guidelines for operator action were received yesterday - current schedule calls for SER preparation to begin Tuesday and drafts cf SER input to be available for review by ELD and others by Wednesday noon.
B&W representative (Jones) is here all week.

Priority is on issuance of orders and on actions associated with subsequent lifting of orders. Related activities on evaluation of responses to Bulletins are of lower priority. Target is to issue Denton letter by May 12 or soon thereafter which will lift order when/if supporting SER favorably reports on the four safety matters identified.
5.
Utility responses from the five B&W plants are being received piecemeal informally - preliminary plan is to assure that, when complete, the infor-mation is submitted fomally on the docket by letter.
Meetings with licensees continue - Rancho Seco was on Friday with details of their hard wire anticipation scrams - and will meet again Wednesday with staff.

Tedesco FWT report available in draft - being reviewed - expect to be published in 2-3 days - will have to be factored into W - CE reports.

W wishes to meet on RCP trip - they want to trip.
Meeting to be set up on Wednesday, May 9 to discuss generic implications of non-RCP trip via bulletin vs. RCP trip.

Utility-specific AFW meetings (CE and W to start today and run through Saturday, May 12, 2.
A list of analysis needs for W and CE plant types needs to be developed and sent to W today, May 8 Action:

The meeting with W on RCP trip is set for Wednesday, May 9, at 3:00PM.
From DSS: Engireering (Cherny, Brammer, and Kovacs) are involved. The Varga group wi.. coordinate the meeting and arrange for a room.

Varga should arrange for a similar meeting with CE, Friday morning May 11, and notify by telephone today (May 8) the CE-utilities that are otherwise coming to the AFW meetings.
Purpose for these meetings on pump trip is to reconsider pro-and-con of keeping pumps running in the face of actual or impending loss of auxiliaries (such as seal water, CCW).
5.
Cherny should assist in writeups on relief and safety valve degradation with 2-} or liquid flow; Novak to arrange.
6.
Varga should expeditiously distribute such BWR responses as are in.
7.
Heltemes, et al, from SB are to interface with Varga group on ACRS presentation.
8.
Duke Power is bringing in this morning (May 8) its submittal in response to (as-yet unissued) order.
9.
IE is assigning an additional person to Team 2.
10.
R. Reid will furnish, for the five B&W plants, a matrix of requirements and submittals of infomation, 11.
Other three B&W orders are going on Vydec today; need decision on " manage-ment capability" question on Toledo Edison in order.
