301/492-7715 ACRS TO MEET ON THREE MILE ISLAND ACCIDENT The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS ) will hold a meeting on April 16-17 in Washington, D.C.,
to discuss the recent accident at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station in Pennsylvania.
As part of the session, the committee will hc1d a joint aeeting with the NRC Commissioners on April 17 to discuss proposed changes to Babcock and Wilcox nuclear steam supply systems and the status of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be bcid from 2:30 p.m.
to 3:30 p.m.

April 16, from 8:30 a.m.
to 11:30 a.m.,
the committee will meet with members of the NRC staff to discuss its evaluation of replies to an NRC bulletin to other operators cf B&W reactors directing them to perform a series of specific reviews and actions.
From 11:30 a.m.
to 1:30 p.m., the committee will meet in open executive session to discuss ACRS reports regarding the current status of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station.
From 2:30 p.m.
to 5:30 p.m., the committee will meet with representatives of the nuclear industry to discuss zctions proposed with respect to nuclear stations that use B&W reactors.
From 5:30 p.m.
to 7:30 p.m., the committee will meet

the committee will meet in open executive session to discuss its proposed recommen-dations to the NRC regarding modifications to B&W reactors and the Three Mile Island station.
April 17, from 8:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m.,
the committee will continue its discussion of proposed modifications to B&W reactors.
From 1:30 a.m.
to 2:30 p.m.,
the committee will discuss items it will take up with the NRC Commissioners.
From 3:30 p.m.
to 4 p.m.,
the committee will discuss future activities regarding evaluation of the Three Mile Island accident.
