Descriotion of Chance :

Add new panel CR-8A in the Control Room.

(I&C, ME completed)

Reason:

Provide central mimic panel for control and monitoring of the Radwaste Disposal - Reactor Coolant Leakage Recovery System and the Leakage Closed Cooling portion of the Decay Heat Closed Cooling Water System.

Descriotion o f Chance :

Add relief valves to DC piping attached to the shell outlet nozzles on Leakage Coolers -- DC-R2A on WDL-C-lA and DC-R2B on WDL-C-1B.

Valves will both be 3/4" x 1".

Reason:

Required by ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code,Section VIII, Division 1.

Description of Change :

Change set pressure of relief valve WDL-R1 to 150 psig.

Reason:

The Leakage Recovery System design pressure downstream of the Reactor Coolant Drain Tank is 150 psig.

r% 4a. Descriotion of Chance :

By FCR, provide counterbore 3/4" dia.

k-jackscrew guides on bolt circle of manway flange on WDL-T-3.

Reason:

To guide jackscrews during insertion and removal of rupture disc assembly WDL-U26.

4b. Description o f Change :

By FCR, provide stainless steel full socket wald couplings on nozzles designated "M"

and "N"

on RECO Dwg. D-71-Co Rev. 6 (B&R #3 9-00-0124 ).

Nozzles "M"

and "N" will be utilized for process service.

Also remove cooling coil and couling coil support angles from inside o f tank.

Reason:

The cooling coil is no longer required and the rc z le s are required for process piping.

4c. Descriotion of Chance:

By FCR, provide pipe extensions inside WDL-T-3, extending the relief valve nozzles approximately 7 feet into tank (nozzles "F" and "G" per RECO Dug.).

Reason:

Due to changes in design blowdcwn rate, the relief valve is insu f ficien t for steam relief and the tank must be modified to provide for liquid relief.

To improve quenc?ing capability of the tank (14 " line vacuum relief will be pro. ;ded by the external 1" vent line containing valve WDL-VllOl).

By FCR, provide 8" nozzle to replace nozzle "K" on WDL-T-3.

Reason:

To prevent vortexing and minimize pump suction pressure drop to Leakage Trans fer Pumps, NDL-P-9A and WDL-PJ9B.

Calculations are based oa a K factor of.04 for entrance which should be abcat 0.5. In addition, no allowance was made for velocity head which would be in the order of 1.58 ft. of water for 4" pipe at 400 gpm. T

2. There is a good chance of vortex action with the

{ sucticn pipe located only 3 feet from the surface. The Hydraulic Institute uses one foot of head per 1 fps of velocity. With two pump opera tion, the velocity is in the order of 20 fps. Since the continuous operation of the plant is based on these pumps functioning and the reported fact that it is possible to increase the existing connection on the tank from 4" to 8", it is strongly recommended that the connection be changed. The hood inlet is formed by cutting the circular pipe at an angle and placing the pipe so that the crown projects beyond the invert.
