2.1.1 To prevent damage to pumps, insure that each pump recirculation path to the condenser or condensate storage tank is lined up when system is in standby.

2.1.2 NR-V-27A and B (Nuclear Services River Water to EFP Suction Header are normally locked closed with breakers open, and will be opened only when all other sources of water have been exhausted.

2.1.3 When returning system to standby after maintenance or extended shutdown, thoroughly vent each pump.

2.1.4 Oil should always be visible in the glass bottle on the constant level oilers on the pumps.

2.2 Adminis trative.

2.2.1 The emergency feed pumps will not be used to replace a main feed pump for normai operation.

2.2.2 The Emergency Feedwater Pumps will be put into standby, during a unit heatup, after the first main feedwater pump has been placed in service, and EF-VilA and 8 placed in AUTO per 2102-1.1.

2.2.3 The maximum allowable number of cycles of the auxiliary feedwater nozzles in the OTSG is 80 for 80 F feedwater and 40 cycles fo.-

40 F feedwater.

2.2.4 During unit shutdown, prior to tripping the second main feedwater, the Emergency Feedwater Pumps control switches must be placed in PULL-TO-LCCK to prevent inadverent actuation.

2.2.5 Insure the emergency t:ip for EF-U-l is reset for emergency

-j sta.1dby operation.

2.2.6 During startup, prior to entering Mode 3 per Tech. Spec.

APR 3 793 3.7.1.2 all three Emergency feedwater pumps and their associated flow paths must be OPERABLE.

If one of the emergency feedwater pump systems are declared INOPERABLE, comply with action statement 3.7.1.2.a of the Tech. Specs.

2.2.7 With 'ow through the emergency feed nozzles, there is a possibility i

of Water accumulation in the OTSG steam annulus space and the steam lines. After flow through 'he E F header has stopped, insure the steam annulus space, and the MS lines are drained prior to startup.

3.0 PREREOUISITES Initial Each Step upon satisfactory completion.

3.1 VERIFY Instrument Air system is lined up for normal operation per 2104-2.3 and air is available to system valves.

3.2 PLACE the following control switches on Panel 4 in PULL-TO-LOCK, 2A Emergency Feed Pump, 2B Emergency Feed Pump, Steam Driven Emergency Feed Pump (MS-V207), Steam from 2A Generator to Emergency Feed Pump Turbine (MS-VilA), nd Steam from 23 Generator to Emergency Feed Pump Turbine (MS-VllB).

3.3 On the 4160V ESF BUS 2-lE, PLACE the brea'<er for EF-P-2A in the PACKED-IN position.

3.4 On the 4160V ESF BUS 2-2E, PLACE the breaker for EF-P-2B in the RACKED-IN position.

3.5 On the following 480V control centers, INSURE that the designated equipment manual brekaers are CLOSED.
