'I 07/13/78 6.0 PROCEDURE APR 3 734 6.1 Install RC-R2 on the valve test stand in the Unit 1 Hot Machine Shop. Torque to 355 ft. lbs. in 25 ft. lb. incremen:_s. Adaptor ring may have to be used if test stand has a toague and groove type flange.

NOTE:

Special effort should be made to keep the valve as clean as possible in order to minimize chances of contamination of seating surfaces.

6.2 Blue tag electrical switch #10 in D.C. distribution panel 1-0 off.

(Switch will be used for temporary power to opv. ate RC-R2 on test stcnd in the Hot Machine Shop).

6.3 Run temporary #10 cable from D.C. panel 1-D switch #10 to the test stand and mount a safety switch at test stand fused with 5 AMP time delay fuses.

(This swtich will be used to operate the valve).

Run

  1. 10 cable from the safety switch to RC-R2 valve on the tes' stand.

Leave switch in the off position / fuses pulled.

NOTE:

This will supply 125 VDC for operation of RC-R2.

6.4 Test cat'e and equipment for short circuits and grounds.

6.5 Connect nitrogen supply to test stand.

NOTE:

Proper ventilation should be used to keep testing area reasonably free of N build-up.

2 CAUTION: When popping valve under pressure, all personnel shall remain clear of valve discharge area.

6.6 Close switch #10 at D.C. distribution panel 1-0.

6.7 Install the 4 AMP fuses at the safety switch.

?

6.8 At 0 psi, electrically actuate the valve to insure the pilot valve is operational.

1410-V-27 gfgg[1 Revision 0 07/13/78 APR 2 3 979 6.9 Gradually increase pressure to 2300 psig checking periodically for leaks by applying snoop directly to the seat area. There shall be no, observable bubbles.

6.10 At 2300 psig, electrically actuate RC-R2. Valve should lift.

There should be a loud, clean report.

Record lift pressure on data sheet.

Open the safety sw!tch to rescat the valve.

6.11 Re-pressurize to 2300 psig and check for laaks. There shall be no observable bubbles.

RECORD on data sheet.

6.12 Repeat test per steps 6.10 and 6.11 at least three times.

6.13 If bubbles are observed, repair the valve per the Dresser Instruction Manual / Dresser Tech Rep.

6.14 Repeat steps 6.8 thru 6.13 after repair is complete.

6.15 Disconnect temporary power installe'd in step 6.3.

6.16 Remove valve from test stand and install on pressurizer per Maintenance t

Procedure 2401-2.1.
