2.0 LIMITS AND PRECAUTIONS 2.1 Equipment 2.1.1 The Reset pushbuttons on Panel 319 for the Air Intake Tunnel Fire Damper Solenoids reset the release devices only.

Each damper must be individually lifted manually to engage the la'.ch mecharism.

2.2 Adminis tra tive 2.2.1 The control switches on Panel 319 for both sets of sumps should both remain in the "AUT0" position at all times to j

insure sufficient water removal capability.

2104-5.12 Revision 1 06/28/78 2.2.2 The sump pu;.p heater SD-C-1 control switch on Panel 319 must be in "AUT0" whenever freezing conditions might exist.

2.2.3 Following actuation of the Air Intake Tunnel Fire Protection System (s), the atmosphere in the tunnel could be contaminated with combustion products, hydro-carbcn vapors, Halon 1301, etc., and should not be entered without self contained breathing apparatus unless the area is know to be safe.

3.0 PREREGUISITES 3.1 Power is available to 480V MCC 2-42C, and the following breaker ic closed:

4DF SD-C-1 3.2 Sump pumps in cperation per 2104-2.5.

3.3 Power is available to 120V RPC-1 AE and circuit 22 is closed to supply power to AH-D-2A, 2C, and 2E.

i 3.4 Power is available to 120V RPC-4BE and circuit 26 is closed to supply power to AH-D-PB, 2D, and 2F.

3.5 Fire Protection System is in operation for the air intake tunnel per 2104-6.1.

4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Start-Up 4.1.1 Fron Panel 319, place *Se control switch for the Sump Heater SD-C-1 in "AUT0".

The heater will not be energized unless the terpera:ure of the water in the sump is less

4.1. 2 Lift each fira /cmper one at a time and engage its latch mechanism. After the latch mechanism is engaged push the reset for that damper cn Panel 319 to energize latching mechanism selenoid.

Revision 1 06/28/78 CAUTION:

Do not push damper reset buttons unless latch mechanism is engaged in selenoid or selenoid failure will result.

4.1.3 Each of the red indicating lamps on Panel 319 for each damper should be illuminated.

4.1.4 Energize the Air Intake Tunnel Chlorine detector in the Service Bldg by turning the Power Switch and the External Alarm Switch on "0N".

4.2 i;ormal Operation The Air Intake Tunnel H&V System operates automatically, however, the chemical supply in the Chlorine Detector AH-CIS-5484 is to be replenished weekly.

4.3 Shutdowa 4.3.1 The sump heater is secured by placing its control switch on Panel 319 to "0FF".

_4.3.2 The Air Intake Tunnel Chlorine detector in the Service Building is de-energized by turning the Power Switch and the External Alarm Switch to "0FF".

4.3.3 The air intake tunnel fire dampers AH-D-2A thru AH-D-2F may be closed by pushing each damper "CLOSE" pushbutton.

4.4 Resetting Dampers 4.4.1 Following a fire in the intake tunnel, reset the auxiliary function interlock on Panel 705A in accordance with Fire Protection Procedure 2104-6.1.

7 4.4.2 Inspect the fusible links on the fire dampers and replace i

any which are damaged or open.

2104-5.12 Revision 1 06/28/78 CAUTION: The intake tunnel may contain hazardous gases and breathing apparatus should be worn when first entering the tunnel until air quality i;, established.

4.4.3 Lift each fire damper one at a time and engage its latch mechanism.

After the latch mechanism is engaged, push the reset button for that damper on Panel 319 to energe latching selenoid.

CAUTION:

Do not push damper reset buttons unless lock mechanism is engaged in selenoid or selenoid failure will result.

4.4.4 Each of the red indicating lamps on Panel 319 for each damper should be illumination.
