2.0 LIMITS AND PRECAUTIONS 2.1 Hearing protection may be required if entering Diesel Generator Building during diesel operation.
3.0 PREREQUISITES 3.1 A Unit Initial each step.
3.1.1 Check power available to 430V Bus 2-llE and breaker FA-2 closed, (Fan AH-E-50A).
3.1.2 Check power available to MCC 2-llEC and breakers l AF and 2EF closed, (Fans AH-E24A and AH-E51 A).
3.1.1 Check power available to MCC 2-46A and the following breakers are closed:

3.2.1 Check power available to 480 V Bus 2-21E and breaker FB2 closed AH-E-508.
3.2.2 Check power available to MCC 2-21EC and breakers 2AF and lEF closed. (Fans AH-E-24B and AH-E-SlB).
3.2.3 Check power available to MCC 2-46A and the following breakers closed:

The following steps can be used to start either the A or B emergency diesel generator building systems.
4.1 Startup.
Initial each step.
4.1.1 Check that local pneumatic thermostats listed below are set for their appropriate values:

If the diesel building air temperature is below 100 F, AP-E-24A(B) will start and air j
flow will be indicated on control panel AH-E51 A(B) will start U
if the diesel swgr. room _> 100 F and air flow will be indicated on panel 25.
4.1.4 Also at control panel 25, place the AUTO-STOP switch for AH-E50A(B) in AUTO.
AH-E-50A(B) will start if the diesel bkr. is closed, AH-E-24A(B) is not running, and diesel gen building U
temp _>,100 F.
4.2 Normal Operation.
4.2.1 AH-E-24A(B) and AH-E51 A(B) supply fresh or recirculated air to their respective areas to maintain temperature no higher than 104 F.
AH-E-24A(B) runs continuously and AH-E-Sl A(B) starts 2
automatically w!,en either thermostat senses temperature above U
100 F.
Fan operation, air flow and building air temperatures are indicated at main control panel 25.

System heaters will respono to their respective local thermostats to maintain building temperature at about 60 F during cold weather.
4.2.2 AH-E-50A(B) will not be running during normal operati:iis.
4.3 Shutdown.
4.3.1 Normally, AH-E-51A(B) shuts down automatically.when the air temperature in the diesel generator switchgear rooms goes below 100 F.
AH-E-24A(B) rhuts down when disel gen.
0 bldg. temp is 3,100 F.
AH-E-24A(B) and AH-E-51 A(B) may also be shut down by setting the START-STOP-AUTO switch on panel 25 to STOP.
4.3.2 The electric unit heaters are shut down by turning the local thermostat selector switch to 0FF.
3 4.3.3 AH-E-50A(B) is shutdown by placing its AUTO-STOP switch on panel 25 in STOP.
4.4 Special or Infrequent Operation.
4.4.1 If the building fire detection system is actuated, AH-E-24A(B) and AH-E-51 A(B) shut down and the intake dampers close.
4.4.2 AH-E-50A(B) will start if the diesel generator bkr. is closed and AH-E-24A(B) is not running (or fails) and diesel generator U
building temperature 3,100 F.
U 4.4.3 If the diesel gen. buildings temperatures exceed 10C F when the diesel gen bkr. is not closed, either AH-E-24A(B) or AH-E-50A(B) should be started manually.
Once the temperature drops back below 100 F, AH-E-24A(B) will run automatically.
