NRC STAFF'S ANSWER TO NYS ENERGY OFFICE PETITION On March 5, 1979, the New York State Energy Office (Energy Office) filed
" Petition For Leave To Participate As An Interested State By the New York State Energy Office" (Petition), in which the Energy Office petitioned for leave to participate in the captioned proceeding as an interested state pursuant to 10 CFR 92.73 5(c).
In the Petition, the Energy Office stated that under New York law, it was given the responsibility for coordinating the participation of the State agencies and instrumentalities in those federal regulatory processes which affect atomic energy activities in the State.
The NRC Staff has no objection to the Energy Office's request and would welcome its participation as an interested State.
