Dear Dr. Read:
I see by your letter that you need this reply "during the first week of Decembe," and.I apologize for the lateness of our answer.
I hopt t can become part of your support doct.".nentation at lea s t.
Boeing Ccmercial Airplane Company has delivered 40 of the later model 727-200s to Trans World Airlines. According to our records,14 of these are of 191,000-pound gross taxi weight. Tnis is the heaviest 727 version delivered to TWA.
It has a takeoff weight of 190,500 pounds and a landing weight of 154,500 pounds.
Furthemore, onif two U.S. operators have 727s of higher weight: Hughes Airaest at 195,500 taxi and 160,C00 landing, and Alaska Airlincs at 197,700 taxi and 160,000 landing weignt.
In both cases, maximum possible takeoff weight is aoout 500 pounds less than taxi weignt, and the aircraft uses fuel at the rate of about 7,500 pounds an hour at cruise.
Sincerely,
/
