"'he infer =aticn pre rided in cur letter c: January 30, 1978 indicated that:

"... all safety-related circuits have been recoved frcs terminal biccks and connected using butt splices ccvered by shrink fit naterial...".

As a result of our reviev of I2 Circular 78-08, ve have ree.lized that the infer =ation included in the above qucration requires sene a:iditicnal clarification.

During the ccurse of cur review of 2 Circular 78-08, it was determined that the terminations of several safety-related circuits had not been re=cved frc their t e.-4-a ' blocks and connected in the manner described above.

.nvolve the use of unpr:tected terninal biccks en safety-related circuits in-side cent ainment. In cur letter of January 30, ve indicated that for safe +y-re ated circuits inside centainment at 1MI-2, terminal biccks and butt sp' bbU as are not unprotected, but are instead protected by vented terminal boxes.
