MEMORANDUM AND ORDER September IS, 1978 We assume all parties to this proceeding are in possession of a copy of the Commission's September 15, We further assume that the applicants and 1978 order.
the NRC staff will endeavor to determine expeditiously the effect, if any, that that order is likely to have upon their ability to file and serve prepared testimony by October 30, as provided in our August 16, 1978 order.
Although it may not be possible now to ascertain how much time will. be required tc make that determination, we would think that within two weeks or so those parties should be able to make a reasonably informed judgment respecting whether the October 30 deadline is still a realistic one.

- the applicants and staff are directed to Accordingly, advise us on the matter by letter on or before October 4, In the event that it is reported to us that that deadline is no longer realistic, the letter should also indicate what the party deeras to be an appropriate new filing date.
It is our understanding that none of the other parties to the proceeding proposes to submit prepared testimony.
If this is not correct, they should file a like report by October 4.
