SUBJECT:

SUGGESTED REALIGNMENT IN SENIOR NRR PERSONNEL AT TMI Ve have maneuvered ourselves into working a nominal 15-hour day (a c t ua l l y 16-17) every other day, wi th the al te rnate day 'only" a nominal 12-hour shift.

This is unacceptable.

The perceived fa t i gue is an omen of an ill-considered decision process.

In addition, we have a support team in Bethesda that is'relatively (especially Aycock and Miraglia).

We have a number of safety new decisions to make on going to natural circulation.

This needs ma na ger.:e n t and coordination by someone viell-versed in the TMl situation.

What I propose is the following:

- Ross to leave today for Bethesda to manage all safety analysis there - including questions the duty teams headed by Aycock and Miraglia.

Mattson and Stello to work 7AM - 7PM only.

Vollmer to work 7FM - 7AM.

Ross can come back Friday or Saturday to fill in the Eas te r period, if needed, consistent with safety analysis needs.

Novak to continue as team leader on systems review.

Vollmer could be replaced on the night shift by Don Davis, say Tuesday, if Davis comes on up now.

This could restore 2 A/Ds to DOR.
