DEllTON'S 3:30 P.!1. PRESS COIJFOREl4CE One of Denton's aides, Frank Congel, estimated that the upper dose limit for a person offsite wc,uld be 5 millirems to the thyroid for a sensitive person.
This would be a cunulative dose for the entire period.
The maximum possible doce they think would be 85 millirems.
This vould be the dose which one would get if one were expcced 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> a day at the t! orth Gate without shielding.
Denton said that if th e N RC accepts the B&W plan for cold shutdown, it will take five days to get the equipment prepared and five more days to cool the plant down.
Thus, if tiRC accepts the B&it plan, it vill be 10 days until cold shutdoun.
