SECURITY ASSISTANCE AT THREE MILE ISLAND On April 2,i 1979, I was given the task of ascertaining what Mr. Jim Hanchett needs, LT in the way, security. assistance were at Middletown.

Consecuently, I contacted the Pennsylvania State Police, GSA(Kevin Kampschrcer), and Ms. tiary Jc Mattia(NRC Contracts) in an attempt to determine what cculd be done in obtainingiassistance at Middletown. At the end of the day, no assistance had been obtained and I telephcnically passed this en to Mr. Hanchett.
On the folicwing morning, Mr. R. J. Brady, Divisicn of Security, told me that Mr. James Devlin, Region I, had been instructed tc obtain contractor services for assistance at Middletcwn.
It was later learned through ccnversaticn with Mr. Devlin that he had obtained the services of Burns Protective Services and that Mr. E.L. Halman, Civisicn of Ccntracts, would be cont =cted to handle the ccntracting of these services.
