RECORD OF ACTIONS AT THREE MILE ISLA"D During the period March 30, 1979 to April 8,1979, I participated as part of the NRC team assigned to Three Mile Island (TMI).

During this period I was part of a group working on radwaste systems under the direction of Jchn Collins, URR.

My duties involved two general areas:

1) review of licensee procedures for handling radioactive wastes generated by the accide.nt; and 2) obtaining information from control room locs and from plant personnel on the status of plant sys tens.

Review of Licensee Procedures While at the olant I forned part of a team of NRR and IE personnel reviewing licensee procedures for modifying and operating systens for sampling and processing rad' nctive wastes.

Procedures were reviewed cnd approved for disposal industrial liquid wastes, sanitary wastes, and low activity wastes fron Unit !10. 1.

Also reviewed and approved were procedures for transferring wastes from the Miscellaneous Maste Tank in Unit No. 2 to the Reactor Coolant Bleed Tank.

Reviewed but not aDproved was a procedure for sacpling the Unit No. 2 primary coolant using a robot.

In the area of caseous wastes, procedures were reviewed and approved for operating the containment hydrogen reconbiner, for venting the cas decay tanks to the containment, for ventina the Make-up Tank to the containment, and for sampling gases from the waste gas decay tanks and Make-co Tank.

Copies of all approved procedures were kept in e log book r.aintained by MEP personnel working i: the Unit No. 2 Turbine Building.
