The following actions were taken in response to the reference nemo:

1.

Cn April 10, 1979, Sandia Laboratories and Battelle Colu ibus Laboratories assenbleJ task forces to work on the probica at ny request.

DCL,orovidcd calculations of centainaca: atcospheric conJitions and airtorne radioactivity as functions of tine assuraing core molt.

3.

Sandia developed sevaral alternative schcaos for venting and recirculating tha contair. cent at.90spherc.

4.

!!arr Cunningham. and I defined the functional rcquirenents of the syste:n, clarified the constraints on construction and orcration, and discussed with 10.3 Telford (:CC) and Jin Thiesing (Bachtel) at TMI-2 the feasibility cf various alternatives.

3.

A draf t conceptual design and backup information were telecopied to the sita on April 14, 1979, for review sad cor.cnt.

Coments were factored into a reviseJ design and lists of options for construction and operation of the systoa.

TW revisions were telecopicJ to the site on April 14 and April 15. The

-final design is attached.
