Responses Enclosed is a stipple = ental hydrologic engineering position f or the subject plant, prepared by T. L. Johnson and W. S. 31 vins. This supplenental position is based upon a site visit on May 12, 1975 and is necessita*,ad by the fact that the trehnical specification for Unit 1 does / cot require repair and :saintenance of the erosion prs-tection (17. apparently provides only for inspection). We consider that thf a/ position adequately addresses the repair and mintenance of the efosion protection.

TJZ MILE 151 U0 t;IT 2 DCCKII :;0.30-320 321.05 It is our position that you should subnit technical specifications to require inspection and naintenance of the erosion protection on the dika surrounding the island. The proposed specification should include the following provisions:
1)
Inspection of the erosion protection at least evary 6 nonths and 4 diately after every flood which exceeds 300,000 cfs at the Earrisburg gage.
2)
Pronntly repair (to design specif;: Ttions) any danage to, or displacanent of, the erosion protection and filter
=aterial observed during the intpections.
- 3) Maintenanca of the dike and riprap should specifically include ranoval of vegetation (trees, growths of weeds and g asses) and other general naintenance as required in order to conforn to design specifications as subnitted in FSAR.
