Dear Dr. Hendrie:
The recent accident at the Three Mile Island plant has certainly renewed interest in the status of nuclear reactor safety.
If vou should establish any general committees to review the current status of nuclear reactor safety, I would like to be considered as an appointee.
You know my background in reactor safety research and, while 'xe both served as consultants on several General Accounting Office audits, you became familiar with my general views regarding the present status of safety research.
Nhile we did not agree on all safety related issues, you know that m.y conce ns are based on engineering arguments, not emotional ones.
Ne both would like to see nuclear power developed in a safe and economical manner, and I would be interested in pursuing that goal as a member of any review committees you may create.
Sincerely,
/ /(,&w Carl J
