a UNITED GTATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION W ASHINGroN. D.

C.

20555 March 15, 1976 DOCKET No:

50-320 FACILITY:

Three Mile Island 2 APPLICANT:

Metropolitan Edison Company SLMfA"sY OF MEETING ON CONTAI!OCNT SUSCCMPARTMENT CODES Representatives of Burns & Roc (B&R), the applicants' Architect-Eagineer, met with members of the NRC staff cn March 8, 1976 to identify passible differences between codes and/or inputs used in the analysis of tub-compartment transient pressures which would account for differences in results.

It was noted that RELAP 3 Mod 63 was used by the NRC staff while Mod 36 was used by L&R.

Mod 36 is known to have some minor errves which would affect low pressure cases only. Mcd 68 is not yet avaiable co=mercially.

It was agreed, however, that differences between the two versions are minor and would not account for variations in results.

Fure.her discussion identified differences in inputs which would cause errors in the direction seen.

It was felt that these are the source of the problem, and we noted we would rerun the programs with corrected inputs to verify BTR results.
