SUBJECT:
THREE MILE ISLNiD UNIT HO. 2 CONDUCT OF OPERATIO:iS As you are aware, the applicant for Three Mile Island Unit No. 2 has infomed us (subsequent to the issuance of tne SER) that the duty station of the Manager-Generation will not nomally be onsite. This change effectively leaves the two Unit Superintendents (Unit No.1 Superintendent and Unit No. 2 Superintendent) in apparent equal charge of site, i.e. station-related responsibilities and activities including personnel assigned to an operating shif t crew. This arrangement was reaffimed in the applicant's presentation before the ACRS on October 15, 1976. In the absence of further infomation, we do not have sufficient infomation to confim the acceptability of this organizational arrangenent. Therefore, the enclosure hereto requests infomation that we require freci the applicant in order for us to evaluate this organizational arrangement.
We are available for discussion with the applicant.
