SUMMARY
OF ACRS SU2 COMMITTEE MEETING As part of its review of the application of Metropolitan Ediscn et al for a license to operate Three Mile Island Unit 2, an ACRS Subcommittee held a public meeting on September 23 and 24,1976, at the Quality Inn in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The meeting fclicwed closely the planned agenda (attached). Formal transcripts are svailable which include copies of visual aids and handouts used during the meeting.
Principal subjects of concern identified during the meeting and in some case:, noted as agenda items for the full Committee meeting include.
1.
The applicant's organization for plant oper:. tion.
2.
Staff discussion of all outstanding generic issues, particularly those considered resolved by the staff but not by ACRS.
3.
Core performance items, e.g., operating philosophy, history, and marci, s of " feed and bleed" reactors vs. " rodded" plants, rod bowing history and effects, etc.
4.
Fire protection system - conformance with staff position and Appendix A.
5.
System interactions - between Unit 2 systems and between Units 1 '.
2, in normal operation and as a result of accidents.
6.
Industrial Security.
7.
Conformance of station emergency plans with Regulatory Guide 1.101 (not yet issued).
The Subcommittee indicated it would recommend to the full Comittee that their reviet. of this application be continued at the full Comittee meeting schedule for October 15, 1976.
