CLOSE001 0F ALLEGATION REGARDING CUT REBAR N:0 DtPROPERLY SPLICED CONCRETE AttCHORS AT THREE MILE ISLAND, UNIT 2 (F14666H2)
By a pheno call on 3/24/78 and by a route slip the same day we informd H. Sliver, LPM for Three Mile Island, Unit 2, of the above referenced allegation. The route slip trans:nitted the information we had at that time in crder fer !!RR to consider notification of the Hearing Board.
We have been infon::ed by the regional in:cector that the iten has been resolved 6n a technical basis by the additien of a new anchor bracket and plate including concrete anchors.
The effect any cut rebar in a limited a es has been evaluated by the engineer, Burns and Ree,-and found to be negligible. The item will be closed in IE Inspection Report 50-320/7a-15. From the administrative standpoint there is a noncompliance being issued es a result of the investigatien of the allegation. That nonctxm11ance deals with the fact that the original repair work en the studs and possible cut rebar wg: ace molished without properly approved work procedures. This infomation can be used to updata the Hearing Ceard if you determine such action is nscessary.
