Dear Mr. Murphy:
In accordance with the uaderstandings which were reflected in Chair =an Seaborg's letter of October 3,1963 to Admiral Karo, I an forwarding Volumes 1, 2, and 3 of the Preliminary Safety Analysis Raport filed by Jersey Cantral Pcwer & Light Company with its application for authoriaation to construct and operate the Oystar Creek Nuclear Generating Station Unit 2.
The pro-posed reactor will be located adjacent to the existing Oyster Creek Unit i nuclear reactor en the applicant's site in Lacey Township, Ocean County, New Jersey.
At the Comission's request, the U. S. Coast & Geodetic Survey reviewed the Pre 14 inng Safeguards Snmary Report for the Oyster Creek Unit I reactor, and en September 9,1964, submitted a " Report on the Seismicity of Oyster Creek, New Jersey." A copy of the report is enclosed for your reference. We would appreciata recairing the results of your review of the enclosed documents concerning the seismological characteristics of the Oyster Creek site which night have a bearing upon our safety review of the Oystar Crack Nuclear Generating Statien Unit 2.
