On December 15, 1973, the Chairman of Citizens for a Safe Environment, one of the Intervenors in this pro-ccedinc, submitted a letter to the Licensing Board stating that the group irac vithdrnring $tn r e q" n s ' to i n t e - zr ".^..

A cop'/ of the letter is attached hereto.

On December 21, 1973, Mr. Douglas E. Baker, Executive Co-Director of Environmental Coalition on Nuclear Power (the other Intervenor in this pro-ceeding) in a telephone call with Applicants' counsel, stated that his groun was also withdrawing from this proceeding.

This telephone conv ersa tion is reflec ted in the attached Affidavit of Jay E. Silbceg.

The withdrawal of both Intervenors makes a hear-ing unnecessary and mandates the termination of the Juniata transmission line proceedingc.

A proposed order which would terminate the proceedings is attached.

The Determina tion to Rescind Sucpension of Cons truction Activitics, published in M

the Federal Register on April 10, 1973 (38 Fed. Reg. 9105),

provided that the order rescinding suspension of construction activities for the Juniata transmission line would "be ctayed pending appropriate dispcaition of [cny] reques t [for hearing]."

With the withdrawal by Intervenorc, the Determination to Rescind Suspencion would automatically take effect.
