Vrain Unit No. 1 P-79254 Mr. Karl V. Seyfrit, Director Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region IV Office of Inspecton and Enforcement 611 Ryan Plaza Drive Suite 1000 Arlington, Texas 76012 Docket No. 50-267

SUBJECT:

Response to IE Bulletin 79-24

Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

As requested in IE Bulletin 79-24, a field check of safety-related process, instrument, and sampling lines was initiated. The check of those lines which could possibly freeze during extremely cold weather revealed that all such lines were either inside heated buildings, heat traced, or heat traced and insulated. These measures should provide adequate protection against freezing.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Very truly yours,
