802 pan Defect NFS has completed a program to test emergency waste transfer equipment and to reduce the time needed to prepare for and transfer high-level liquid waste should that become necessary. Some of these items have been previously reported, but are listed belcw for completeness.

k.

1.

The SG-2 transfer pump has been assembled and installed in tara 801 and has been satisfactorily operationally tested.

2.

A spare pump to replace 8G-2 should it become inoperative has been procured and tested at the site. The spare pump is air operated.

3.

A permanent transfer line has been installed from 8D1 to the lagoon system.

This line would allow the 8G-2 pump to pump down the condensate in 801 at about 100 gpm instead of the 20 gpm of the submersible pump.

A blank flange is installed in the line to prevent its inadvertent use.

4.

A permanent, underground waste transfer line has been installed between 8D2 and 801.

The line has been welded to an existing underground stub that passes through the side of the 801 vault and into the top of the 801 tank.

All underground connections on the line have been welded and X-rayed. At tank 8D2, the transfer line is presently disconnected, but can be connected to the emergency transfer pump discharge with a spoolpiece, if waste transfer should be necessary.

Next Meetino The next meeting is scheouled for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 1980.
