Site : DIABLO CANYON Emergency Class : Not Applicable At 1320 PDT on 7/26/2019, the Diablo Canyon Shift Manager was notified that a green sea turtle was found alive in the intake structure. Under the endangered species act a report will be made to the National Marine Fisheries Services.
The turtle was retrieved and has been turned over to the local Marine Mammal Center. The report and this notification are required by the Diablo Canyon Power Plant Environmental Protection Plan and in accordance with 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi).
The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified.
