SUBJECT:
PROPOSED REVISION TO TAP A-40 The original version of TAP A-40 included studies on seismic input definition, for which the contractors had not been selected, and the scope of work had not been well defined. As currently developed, these tasks will add approximately two years to the schedule of TAP A-40.
It is necessary to make a decision regarding the status of the seismic tasks under TAP A-40. marked, " Alternative 1," is a proposec' revision that includes seismic tasks, and Enclosure 2 marked, " Alternative 2," is a proposed revision that excludes the seismic tasks. The Directors for Division of Site Safety and Environmental Evaluation, Division of Operating Reactors, and the Division of Systems Safety have all been provided with the two alternative proposals.
It is requested that the TASC discuss the two proposals and resolve this matter.
