- 6) Telecon between Mr. Odegaarden, NRC, and Mr. R. K. Martin, Pan Am Health Physics, on 7 November 1979, Same subject Relative to Reference 6, Pan Am is requesting an extension of the due date for submittal of a revised application describing the QA Program to be utilized by the licensee (Pan Am) to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 71.51.
On 7 November 1979, Mr. Martin attempted to contact Mr. Spraul to discuss the problems concerning Pan Am's initial QA Program application (Reference 2),
which was ultimately deemed unacceptable by your office (Reference 3).
Mr. Martin was infomed that Mr. Spraul was on leave and would not return until 19 November.
In the absence of Mr. Spraul, Mr. Martin did talk to Mr. Odegaarden.
Following an involved discussion concerning the matter, Mr. Odegaarden indicated that Mr. Spraul would have to be contacted by us upon his return to resolve our questions.
Due to the untimeliness of Mr. Spraul's exoected return to work (.19 November) relative to the deadline for our resubmittal (23 November), Mr. Odegaarden suggested that we request a further extension to 31 December 1979.
Based on his recomendation, Pan An requests extension of the subject QA Program L
