Gentlemen:
On flovember 14, 1979 Mr. E. D. Groover, QA Site Supervisor at Plant Vogtle, reported to your Mr. Tom Conlon that a potential reportable item under 10CFR50.55e existed at Plant Vogtle concerning dewatering and erosion of backfill.
GPC has received " Confirmation of Action" and " Confirmation of Con-currence" letters from the flRC requiring their concurrence prior to starting work in the affected areas.
Our responses to these letters provide the current status of our evaluation.
Completion of our evaluation is contingent upon proceeding with various aspects of the investigations required by the fiRC.
At this time, Georgia Power Company is unable to establish a definite completion date for the final report.
An additional update and a date for the final report will be provided by January 15, 1979.
