Davis, Chief Fuel Facility and Materials Safety Branch 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137 Dow Chemical U.S.A. - TRIGA Reactor Docket No. 50-264 The inspection conducted by J. W. Hiatt on October 2, and 3, 1979, revealed that our Reactor Operations Committee failed to meet during the second quarter of 1979. Technical Speci-fication I.4 requires that the committee will meet at least quarterly.
In response to this inspection, the following corrective ac-tions have been taken:
- 1. The Reactor Operations Committee met March 13, August 2, October 11, and November 7 of 1979 and a meeting is scheduled for December 11, 1979.
Thus there will be five meetings in 1979 even though three of the meetings were in the fourth quarter.
- 2. A reminder board is being established to visibly remind committee members when meetings are due so the required meetings will be scheduled.
We feel these actions taken achieve full compliance with tech-nical specification I.4 and prevent similar noncompliance in the future.
The above proposal is submitted for your approval in meeting the requirements of 10 CFR, Part 2, 2.201.
