Gentlemen:
Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No.1 Startup Physics Testing Program for Cycle 7 Report In Reference (1), Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) submitted information relevant to the Startup Physics Testing Program for Cycle 7.
The purpose of this letter is to correct certain information erroneously submitted in the referenced letter.
The following information should be substituted for that previously submitted:
The referenced report stated the Technicel Specification shutdown margin was 0.47% AK/K. As noted during the NRC Audit 79-24, October 2 to 5,1979, this is not technicalsy correct. Technical Specification, Paragraph 4.3.A.1 states the shutdown margin limit is 0.33% A /K and only in the Bases, K
Paragraph 3.3.A, Page B 3/4 3-1 is the cycle "R" value addressed. For Cycle 7, "R" is 0.14% 6K/K, therefore, "R" + 0.33% A K/K = 0.47% A /K as K
noted in the referenced report.
The NRC auditor recommended the NRC be informed of our correct shutdown margin limit, therefore, this letter amends the report to reflect the Technical Specification shutdown margin limit.
