Subject:

Potential Failure of Emergency Diesel Generator Field Exciter Transformer As required in Reference (2), we are providing the following information:

Item 1 The circuitry of the diesel generators for Maine Yankee has been examined and it has been determined that no connection exists between the primary windings of the exciter power transformer and the neutral of the generator.

Item 2 Maine Yankee will perform the sustained full-load operation test on each diesel generator before January 1, 1980.

You will be notified of the results upon completion of testing.
