Dear Mr. Doherty:
The Staff is in receipt of your fifth request for production of documents and sixth set of interrogatories in the captioned proceeding. We will respond to these discovery requests as soon as possible. However, we would appreciate it very,much if, in the future, you would identify specifically the contention or contentions to which each of your discovery requests relate.
In view of the large number of issues involved in the proceeding, such a nexus between the discovery request and a specific contention is necessary so that the Staff may properly evaluate the relevance of a particular request to the specific issue in controversy to which it is addressed.
