Dear Sir:
Texas A&M University is currently operating its radioactive waste col-tection under a centralized program. Although there exist tso reactor lic-enses R-23 and R-83 as well as a byproduct license 42-9082-10 all radioac-tive waste is considered as processed, prepared, and transferred to the con-tractor under Agreement State License 6-448.
All radioactive waste is prepared at Texas A&M University by Radiological Safaty personnel and picked up on site by Todd Research and Development, Inc..
Liquid, solid and animal carcasses are loaded in 55 gallon drums per Todd Nuclear instruction for transport.
No direct transaction is undertaken with the disposal site management by Texas A&M University.
This rcply is considered applicable to the requirements stated in the notices sent separately to 1) R-23 2) R-83 and 3) Texas A&M University.

- 1.
DOT and NRC regulations are maintained by Health Physics Operations at two locations, University Radiological Safety Office and the Nuclear Science Center.
- 2.
Radioactive waste disposal is with an intermediate contractor. Copies of contract agreement are on file at the Radiological Safety Office.
Todd Nuclear Division of Todd Research and Development is currently the collection contractor for Texas A&M University.
- 3. The Staff of the Radiological Safety Office, Texas A&M University are the responsible designees for preparation and packaging.
Staff personnel include:
R. D. Neff J. E. Simek P. S. Sandel E. F. Bates B. Schoenbucher D. R. Davis G. Wiechering
- 4.
Instructions are an file, and are a part of the contract agreement.
- 5.
Staff members will be routinely briefed on applicable procedures and regulations.
- 6.
Radiation workers perform duties under direct supervision of University Broad License-Sublicensees.
- 7. Ibterial accountability is maintained at a) Radiological Safety Office and the two productian capable facilities b) Nuclear Science Center and c) Cyclotron Institute. Records audit will be made by appointed person-nel of the University Radiological cafety Board sem1 annually.

Review and audit of waste management activities is the responsibility of the Radiological Safety Board. Records of audits will be maintained at the Radiological Safety Office.
