Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
Your letter of September 27, 1979,- requested the District to commit to a valve qualification program for our containment purge and vent valves.
The containment purge and vent valves at Rancho Seco were furnished by Allis-Chalmers Corporation.
Allis-Chalmers Corporation is currently conducting valve qualification tests at NASA's Langley Research Center in Virginia.
We understand that these tests are being conducted to demonstrate compliance with your guidelines for demonstration of operability of purge and vent valves.
The District will participate in the Allis-Chalmers valve qualification program, which we understand is currently in progress.
