Dear Mr. Reid:
Reference is made to the Memorandum to you from Peter B.
Erickson regarding a meeting with the Omaha Public Power District on November 16, 1979 in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Because of the significant public interest in OPPD's application as manifested by the Request for Hearing filed by the Natural Resources Committee of the Citizen's Advisory Board of the Metro-politan Area Planning Agency; and because of the inability of interested persons, including ratepayers and owners of OPPD, to meet
.in Maryland on a Nebraska project, and because of concerns about informal meetings of this nature without an adequate record thereof being preserved; and without the ability of interested persons to attend; and because of the lack of available information about the design characteristics and history of the Exxon fuel rod assembly, which OPPD proposes to install; and because of the apparent importance of the meeting in question (without any indication of the correctness of this appearance) on behalf of the Natural Resources Committee, I urgently request th,at this meeting be rescheduled for Omaha, Nebraska rather than Silver Spring, Maryland so that other vitally interested persons might be able to attend.
Very truly yours, (l
