RESEARCH PROGRAMS IN Ef1ERGENCY PLANNING AND PREPAREDNESS This Office has been asked in SECY 79-499 (Carter Task Force Report) to
" inventory completed and ongoing emergency planning and preparedness studies and research within the NRC."
I would appreciate it if you could provide us with a listing and a brief description of any ongoing or completed research items conducted within the past two fiscal years which you may know about and a list of programs projected for the next three fiscal years.
We have also been asked to solicit and evaluate proposals for emergency planning and preparedness research. Any such proposals or suggestions you may have would also be of help.
We would appreciate a response within the next two weeks.
