March 23,1979 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--
PNS-79-24 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance.
The information presented _
is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Pacific Gas & Electric Company Diablo Canyon Units Nos. 1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-275 & 50-323 San Luis Obispo County, CA
Subject:
B0MB THREAT On March 23,1979, at 6:54 a.m. PST, an unknown male called the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's office and gave the following message:
"A bonb will ao off at Diablo Canyon at 12 noon." The licensee was advised and conducted a search of the facility with negative results.
Contractors have been advised and given the option of leaving the site or continuing to work.
Media interest is not expected by the licensee and no press release is planned.
The State of California has been noti 'ied.
The IAT has been notified.
NRC, Region V (San Francisco) received telephone notification from the licensee at 7:20 a.m PST, on March 23, 1979.
