PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION March 30, 1979 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION 0F SAFEGUARDS EVENT--
PNS-79-25 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notic.e of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company Diablo Canyon Units Nos.1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-275 & 50-323 San Luis Obispo County, California
SUBJECT:
BOMB THREAT On March 30,1979, at 6:52 a.m. PST, an unknown male (..lled the Sheriffs Department in San Luis Obispo and gave the following message:
"At 11 o' clock a bomb will destr6y Diablo" (a.m. or p.m. unknown).
The licensee was advised and conducted a search
'f the facility with nega-tive results.
The contractors are being advise.1 and given the option of leaving the site or working.
Media interest 's not expected by the licensee, and no press release is planned.
The State of California has been notified.
The IAT has been notified.
NRC, Region V (San Francisco) receivad telephone notification from the licensee at 7:07 a.m. PST, on March 30, 1979.
