Dear Ted:
Pursuant to your recent request of Joel Lubenau, I am enclosing two charts comparing the median of Agreement State staff salaries and the median Program Directors' salaries. This data was collected from the States during calendar year 1978.
I am also enclosing a copy of the Federal General Salary Schedule. The entrance level (Master's degree, no experience) for personnel in NRC licensing and inspection programs is usually GS-9.
The range for staff level inspectors is usually GS-ll to GS-13 with supervisory grades beginning at GS-14.
In the licensing program staff positions range from GS-ll to GS-14 with supervisory positions beginning at GS-15.
I hope this information will be helpful to you.
Sincerely, JojinR.McGrath Stfate Agreements Program Office of State Programs
