This is in reply to your letter of April 29, 1979, to Mr. Landon Kite, Staff Assistant at the White House.
I am sorry for the delay but we have been very busy 5,ith the aftermath of the Three Mile Island accident.
You refer to the problem of containment and storage of radioactive wastes.
This was the subject of a Report to the President by the Interagency Review Group on Nuclear Waste Management in March 1979 This Group was established by the President in March 1978 to formulate recommendations with respect to long-term management of nuclear wastes, was composed of representatives of fourteen Government agencics, and received extensive comments from the public. The Table of Contents, Preface, and Intro-duction of the Report are enclosed. Th.s second page of the enclosure indicates how the full report can be obtained.
