In accordance with section 21(b)(2) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended, va are pleased to provide you (for your determination whether the water quality of other States may be affected) with a water quality certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources datad August 23, 1971, for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station. Units 1 and 2.
Also enclosed are copies of the Application and Permit No. 22-70-2-04 which are referred to in the certification.
The certification and accompanying material were received under cover of letters dated October 1 and October 18, 1971, respectively, from the Metropolitan Edison Company, also enclosed.
