Dear Mr. Gustafson:
Douglas Olson and I want to thank you for the fine service of Drs. Buffington, Draley and Carson in the preparation of the above testimony; the final drafts were all excellent presen-tations. Furthermore, the additional time they spent in working with us to prepare answers to cross-examination was helpful in acquainting us with some of the details of the problems involved. Although the case was settled (a copy of the stipulation is attached for you), if our testimony and our witnesses had not prepared themselves so well, such a settle-ment might not have taken place.
It is ironic that the more time we may spend in preparation, the less likely it is that a witness in fact will testify, but we trust that you all will not feel deprived of the opportunity.
