On February 13, 1968, pursuant to a motion filed by the g l

,g Applicant and consented to by the AEC regulatory staff, the atomic safety and licensing board designated by the Co= mission to preside 11 this proceeding issued an Order and Notice, which was published in the Federal Register on February 16, 1968 (33F.R.3084),reschedulingtheprehearingcordere$tcezadthe public hearing to March 29 and April 10, 1968, respectively.

On February 26 and March 6, 1968, respectively, the Applicant filed Amendments 8 and 9 to its application. These amendments contained additional information requested by the AEC regulatory staff concerning matters related to the location of the Olmsted State Airport near the site of the proposed facility.

The AEC regulatory staff will require additional ti=e to complete its evaluation of the additional information submitted g

1 by the Applicant in Amend =ents 8 and 9.

We now anticipate that the AEC regu)- tory staff's Safety Evaluation of the application will be issued within the next few days to be followed by the issuance of an addendum to the Safety Evaluation on approximately April 16, 1968, which would contain an evaluation of the information contained in Amendments 8 cnd 9 to the application.

In view of the foregoing, and pursuant to 10 CFR 8 2.730 of the Co=sission's " Rules of Practice"' the AEC regulatory staff moves that:

1) thepublichearing,nowscheduledforAprilkO,1968, be postponed until April 25, 1968; 2) the time for filing petitions for leave to intervene in the proceeding and the time for persons to inford the Cecmission of a desire to make a limited appearance

be extended tc April 25, 1968; and

3) the prehearing conference, now scheduled for March 29, 1968, be held as scheduled to consider the matters provided for consideration by' 10 CFR S 2.752 and Section II of Appendix "A" to 10 CFR Part 2.
