Dear Mr. Giambusso:

Enclosed please find fif ty (50) copies of our report entitled

" Report on Containment Building Upper Vertical Tendon Displacement During Prestress." This report was prepared as a result of a meeting on this subject with members of the AEC Staff on August 29, 1973 at the Three Mile Island site. During this meeting members of the AEC Staff examined first hand the upper tendon bearing plates and sur-rounding concrete.

The report describes the results of our investigation. There is no substantive evidence that any of the upper vertical tendon bearing plates have receded into the concrete. On the contrary, all evidence indicates that the concrete under these bearing plates is sound.

Therefore, we are not planning to remove any of the upper vertical tendon bearing plates and are concluding our investigaticn as outlined in the enclosed report.
