Environmental Projects ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONI - THRRR HILE ISLAND - 1 i
j Recent inspections have identified certain requirements in technical specifications which differ from Regulatory Guides and the type of I
requirements being included in current tarkn4*=1 specifications.
Although these are not necessarily deficiencias, we suggest these comments be evaluated from the standpoint of main *=4ning consistency in require-ments and that they be considered for inclusion in the next revision of tech =4e=1 specifications, if appropriata.
Enclosed is a summary of the comments from our Regional Office concerning environmental technical specifications for Three Mile Island - 1.

SUMMARY
OF COMMENTS FROM REGIONAL OFFICE To be consistent with the " standard" ETS, the ETS for Three Mile Island - 1 should be modified in the following manner:
1.
Air particulate filters should also be composited for quarterly Sr-89 and 90 analyses.
The method of compositing 1.e.,
filters from each station or from all indicator stations, should be indicated for the strontium as well as for the gamma spectral analyses.
2.
The Sr-89 and 90 analyses on milk should be performed on a monthly basis and gamma spectral analysis on a monthly basis should be added.
3.
The analyses of river water should include analysis for Sr-89 and 90 on a quarterly basis.
